Celebrity businessman and Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has dismissed viral reports of his defeat in the APC House of Representatives primary for Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State, insisting he had withdrawn from the race and never participated in the exercise.
His denial comes after widespread social media mockery following reports that he scored only 14 votes, losing the APC ticket to the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency.
In a swift counter-narrative, the socialite maintained that the 14-vote figure was not his, as he was no longer an active contestant at the time of the primary. He did not, however, provide a formal letter of withdrawal or any documentary evidence to support the claim.
Earlier, Cubana had formally declared his political ambition in late April 2026 after purchasing the APC’s expression of interest and nomination forms.
Despite the controversy, Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu and Grand Patron of the City Boys Movement, sent a message of encouragement, urging Cubana to remain hopeful, writing: “Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up.”
As the dispute continues, Nigerians await an official response from the APC to clarify the record.
