Ex-Abia Lawmaker Stanley Nwabuisi Dumps PDP

IKWUANO, NIGERIA — Honourable Stanley Nwabuisi, who represented Ikwuano State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly from 2019 to 2023, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), effective March 1, 2026.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that Nwabuisi communicated his resignation through a letter addressed to the Oloko Ward 2 Chairman in Ikwuano Local Government Area, citing careful reflection on recent internal party decisions as his reason for leaving.

In his resignation letter, the former lawmaker expressed gratitude to the PDP for the opportunities provided during his political journey.

“I remain grateful for all the opportunities the party has given to me,” Nwabuisi wrote, emphasizing that his decision was made after thoughtful consideration.

Political analysts say Nwabuisi’s departure is part of a broader trend of defections in Abia State as prominent political figures reassess their positions ahead of upcoming electoral activities.

While he has yet to announce his next political platform, observers anticipate that his move could influence local party dynamics and voter alignments within Ikwuano LGA.
