NSCEA Warns Terrorists, Sponsors as US, Israel Step Up Mediation in Nigeria’s Security Crisis

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA) has issued a strong warning to terrorists and their sponsors amid increasing international mediation in Nigeria’s security crisis by the United States and Israel.

In a press release signed by Bishop Professor Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies, Secretary of the Elders’ Council, the NSCEA noted the growing involvement of the U.S. and Israel in counter-terrorism efforts and intelligence cooperation with Nigeria.

The Council stated that terrorism in Nigeria “has assumed an international dimension” and cautioned that “international intelligence networks are watching” and that “global accountability mechanisms are tightening.”

While commending the Nigerian government for steps taken, the NSCEA called for immediate and transparent cooperation with U.S. and Israeli security initiatives, an end to denial in addressing insecurity, and the arrest and prosecution of terror sponsors regardless of status or ethnicity.

The statement also highlighted the targeted violence against Christians and vulnerable communities, describing it as “religious cleansing and crimes against humanity.” It urged the government to protect all citizens equally and safeguard religious freedom as enshrined in the constitution.

The NSCEA warned that failure to act decisively could invite deeper foreign intervention and loss of sovereignty.
