The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially returned a portfolio of properties and cash to a victim of a fake spiritualist in Ibadan.
The items, which include a five-bedroom duplex, multiple bungalows, two vehicles, and N1.1 million, were recovered from Fatai Alli, also known as ‘Baba Abore’. Alli was convicted for advance fee fraud, where he posed as a spiritualist to defraud his victim, Daniel Attiogbe.
The handover was conducted on behalf of EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede by the Ibadan Zonal Director, ACE 1 Hauwa Ringim. Olukoyede stated that the action was carried out in strict compliance with a court order for final forfeiture.
“This is to reassure Nigerians of the Commission’s commitment to transparency and accountability,” Olukoyede said, emphasizing that the EFCC operates within the law.
The victim, Daniel Attiogbe, thanked the EFCC for its diligence and professionalism in recovering his assets and bringing the fraudster to justice.
