The APC Abia Central Senatorial Candidate, Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, has said the future of Abia Central should be defined by improved welfare, quality education, accessible healthcare, job creation, and economic empowerment rather than infrastructure alone.
CDA News Nigeria reports that Atuma said his Abia Central Senate bid is driven by a commitment to providing effective representation and people-oriented leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
CDA News gathered from the report that the former lawmaker highlighted his legislative experience, noting that his contributions to governance, accountability, and national development have equipped him with the capacity to represent the people effectively. He also recalled representing Nigeria at international engagements on ecological and environmental protection.
According to Atuma, his record in public service includes road construction and rehabilitation, educational support, installation of street lights, youth empowerment initiatives, and skills acquisition programmes designed to improve livelihoods across communities in Abia Central.
On national politics, Atuma advocated stronger engagement between the South-East and the Federal Government, arguing that such cooperation would attract more federal projects, appointments, and development opportunities to the region.
He added that his vision for Abia Central prioritises human capital development through investments in education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and inclusive economic growth across Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South Local Government Areas.
