ATLANTA, United States — The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has declared Nigerian citizen Emuobosan Emmanuella Hall wanted and announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to her arrest after she failed to report to prison to begin serving an eight-year sentence for her role in a romance-fraud scheme.
According to a report published by The Gazette on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Hall, 46, was sentenced in January 2026 by a US federal court for conspiring to defraud victims through a romance scam.
The case involved a scheme in which perpetrators allegedly posed as military officers, philanthropists, and businesspeople to establish relationships with victims online before persuading them to send money under false pretences.
US authorities said Hall was ordered to report to her designated federal prison facility by March 25, 2026, but failed to comply.
Court records cited in the report indicated that Hall’s GPS monitoring device last registered a location at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on March 24, 2026. The device subsequently stopped transmitting, while airline records reportedly showed that she did not board her scheduled flight to Minnesota, where she was expected to serve her sentence.
A federal grand jury indicted Hall on October 23, 2026, for failing to report to the Bureau of Prisons as ordered. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued.
The FBI has appealed to members of the public to provide credible information that could help locate her.
“Anyone with information on Emuobosan Emmanuella Hall’s location should call 1-800-CALL-FBI or reach out online at https://tips.fbi.gov. The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward leading to her arrest,” the US Department of Justice was quoted as saying.
Millions of Dollars in Fraudulent Losses
According to court records cited by The Gazette, Hall admitted responsibility for approximately $851,207 in losses suffered by victims of the romance-fraud scheme.
Her co-defendant, Kenneth Akpieyi, was convicted following a jury trial in July 2025 and sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found responsible for losses exceeding $3.5 million.
Investigators said the scheme involved online relationships established through social media platforms, with conversations later moved to WhatsApp and other messaging services. Victims were subsequently persuaded to send money for purported charitable activities, medical expenses and other fabricated needs.
Authorities said companies and financial accounts were used to receive and transfer proceeds from the scheme.
FBI Seeks Public Assistance
The FBI is urging anyone with information about Hall’s whereabouts to contact its tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or submit information through its official website at https://tips.fbi.gov.
The $5,000 reward is intended to encourage members of the public who may have information that could assist investigators in locating and arresting her.
The case highlights the continuing efforts of US law enforcement agencies to pursue financial-fraud cases and enforce court-imposed sentences.
