FG, Islamic Development Bank Commission Bilingual School in Kano

The Federal Government, in partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), has commissioned a Bilingual Education Boarding School in Kiru Local Government Area of Kano State to increase access to inclusive and quality basic education.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, described the project as a major investment in human capital development and social inclusion. The bilingual model combines English and Arabic literacy with modern teaching methods, vocational training, ICT, and secure boarding facilities.

The school is part of a broader initiative to construct 30 such model schools across nine states, with Kano hosting four. Each facility can accommodate over 1,000 students and is equipped with academic blocks, hostels, staff quarters, vocational centers, and essential amenities.

The project aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s education transformation agenda and supports efforts to reduce the number of out-of-school children nationwide.
