FG Taking Necessary Steps to End Insecurity, Says Justice Minister

Ilorin – The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), has stated that the Federal Government is taking all necessary steps to end killings and banditry in Nigeria.

Speaking at a coronation event in Kwara State, Fagbemi acknowledged the country’s security challenges but insisted the government is “winning the war against terrorism.” He specifically addressed international narratives alleging a Christian genocide in Nigeria, calling such claims unfounded.

“The government is taking all necessary steps to ensure that killings and banditry are nipped in the bud,” Fagbemi stated. He emphasized that violent attacks affect all communities, citing predominantly Muslim states like Zamfara and Sokoto as also suffering from banditry.

The Minister urged Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu administration, assuring that current reforms are aimed at building a stronger foundation for national development.
