Nigeria’s 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Engagement Advances Climate Goals – Onuigbo

A leading climate advocate, Rep.Sam Onuigbo, has described Nigeria’s participation in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) as a major boost for the country’s climate action and sustainable development agenda.

Onuigbo, who sponsored Nigeria’s Climate Change Act of 2021, noted that ADSW provides Nigeria a platform to align national priorities with global solutions, attract green investment, and address energy poverty and climate vulnerability.

He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s physical presence and address at the event, highlighting the President’s announcement that Nigeria will co-host Investopia with the UAE in Lagos this February to attract sustainable investments.

Onuigbo emphasized that Nigeria’s engagement at ADSW strengthens its voice in global climate discussions, opens doors to renewable energy financing, and showcases homegrown climate innovations.

“This is a step in the right direction for a resilient and inclusive Nigeria,” he stated.
