Former Defence Spokesman Rabe Abubakar Laid to Rest in Katsina

Former Defence spokesperson, Major General Rabe Abubakar (retd.), has been buried in Katsina State following his death after a period in captivity.

The late military officer was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites, with family members, friends, military personnel, government officials, and sympathisers in attendance to pay their final respects.

His passing has continued to attract tributes from across the country, with many describing him as a dedicated officer who served Nigeria with commitment and professionalism throughout his military career.

Military colleagues and community leaders remembered the deceased for his contributions to national security and his role as a public communicator for the Armed Forces during his years of service.

Mourners at the burial prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and for strength and comfort for his family during this difficult period.

The death of the retired General has also renewed concerns about insecurity and kidnapping across parts of the country, prompting calls for intensified efforts by security agencies to protect lives and property.

The Nigerian military and other stakeholders are expected to continue honouring his legacy of service and dedication to the nation.
