Two members of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) have reportedly been killed following an attack on a cattle camp in Oheoyya Community, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
CDA News Nigeria independently verified that the Enugu cattle camp attack claimed the lives of two brothers, Ahmadu and Umaru, who were identified as sons of the South-East Zonal Chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Haruna Sale. CDA News Nigeria gathered the news from the report.
According to a statement signed by MACBAN’s National Deputy Director-General, Gidado Siddiki, the attack occurred at about 5:00 p.m. on Saturday when unidentified gunmen stormed the cattle camp.
The association alleged that, in addition to killing the two herders, the attackers slaughtered about 40 cows before fleeing the scene.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the Enugu cattle camp attack has heightened concerns over security in the area. The association called on security agencies to investigate the incident, apprehend those responsible and ensure the protection of lives and property.
As of the time of filing this report, security authorities had not released an official statement on the attack or confirmed any arrests in connection with the incident.
