he House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee investigating the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) is facing mounting pressure to widen its probe by summoning Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, CDA News Nigeria reports.
CDA News gathered from the report that the pressure intensified after the committee, chaired by Plateau lawmaker Yusuf Gagdi, directed the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to produce the alleged promoter of the non-existent agency, Adeniyi Adeyemi, before lawmakers for questioning on Wednesday.
A source familiar with the committee’s proceedings questioned when lawmakers would bring in Gbajabiamila for questioning, amid growing public interest in the panel’s findings following revelations that forged documents were used to secure recognition, office space and budgetary allocations for the agency.

Political analyst Jackson Ojo criticised the committee for its handling of the probe so far, arguing that failing to invite Gbajabiamila from day one gave the impression the panel was not genuinely interested in uncovering the truth.
Fresh questions have also emerged over why the Chief of Staff has not been formally invited to testify before the House panel, despite Adeyemi’s alleged statements linking him to attempts to establish the council.
Gbajabiamila has separately appeared before an ICPC probe panel and has denied wrongdoing through his legal counsel. President Tinubu had earlier ordered the ICPC to investigate the matter, with findings expected within 30 days.
