The Ibere community in Abia State recently celebrated its rich cultural heritage and unity with the successful hosting of the maiden Ibere Unity Carnival Fiesta Season 1.0.
The event, held amid colour, music, and traditional performances, attracted a large audience including dignitaries such as Hon. Obi Aguocha, Dr. Monday Ubani, and his wife, Mrs. Ubani.
Highlights of the carnival included vibrant cultural dances, indigenous music, and award presentations to both fallen heroes and living icons who have contributed to Ibere’s development.
The festival was sponsored and facilitated by Hon. Osinachi Hycinth Nwaka, Director-General of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, Abia State, who is also a son of the community.
Community leaders praised the organizers for promoting unity and preserving cultural identity while fostering a sense of collective progress.
With the success of the inaugural edition, plans are already underway to make the Unity Carnival an annual event to further strengthen communal bonds and showcase Ibere’s unique heritage.
