ICPC Uncovers Another Fake Agency in OSGF, Tinubu Orders Arrest of Promoter, Suspends Three Permanent Secretaries

ABUJA — The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has uncovered yet another fake federal agency operating within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), prompting President Bola Tinubu to order the immediate arrest of the promoter and the suspension of three permanent secretaries .

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the fake agency, known as the “National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office,” was allegedly promoted by one Mr. George Nwabueze, who operated under multiple aliases including Prince George Buchi Nwabueze, George Nathan Nwabueze, and Hon. George Buchi Nwabueze . According to the ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Aliyu, the agency had been illegally allocated office space within the OSGF premises without presidential authorisation .

The ICPC’s discovery came as an offshoot of the ongoing investigation into the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), promoted by Adeniyi Matthew, who is currently facing prosecution .

CDA News Nigeria reports that the fake agency boasted an elaborate structure spanning 20 states, with three zonal directors and representatives in the United States and China . President Tinubu, following a briefing by the ICPC chairman, ordered Nwabueze’s immediate arrest and the suspension of three permanent secretaries: M.S. Danjuma, Nandungu Gagare, and Richard Pheelangwa . Tinubu also ordered the ICPC to “fish out other collaborators” . The probe forms part of a wider crackdown on fraudulent government agencies in the OSGF .
