Imo, Kwara Govs At ‘War’ With Me — Wike

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has accused Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, of working against him despite the political support he claimed to have extended to them in the past.

Wike spoke during a media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, describing the situation as a political war waged by the two APC governors.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the minister singled out AbdulRazaq as the one “championing” a campaign against him, disclosing that he had personally confronted the Kwara governor over the matter. According to Wike, AbdulRazaq had accused him of sponsoring candidates opposed to the governor’s preferred choices in the state, an allegation he firmly denied.

Wike argued that Uzodinma and AbdulRazaq should instead show gratitude for the political platform he offered aggrieved APC chieftains who defected to the PDP rather than joining the opposition coalition against President Bola Tinubu.

The FCT Minister also recalled his role in ensuring Tinubu defeated Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi in the 2023 election, vowing to repeat the feat in 2027. He further criticised his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, now running mate to ADC candidate Atiku Abubakar, describing him as unfit for the vice presidency.

Despite the friction, Wike maintained that his priority remains Tinubu’s re-election bid.
