IWD: Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma Celebrates Nigerian Women, Hails Their Resilience, Sacrifices

ABUJA, NIGERIA — Former federal lawmaker and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, has joined the global community to celebrate Nigerian women on International Women’s Day 2026, hailing their resilience, sacrifices, and invaluable contributions to national development .

Atuma, described Nigerian women as the backbone of families and the nation .

In a statement released on Sunday, the APC stalwart and beacon of hope for Abia Central in 2027.

praised the strength and determination of women across all sectors of society .

“On this International Women’s Day, I celebrate the remarkable women of Nigeria. Your resilience in the face of challenges, your sacrifices for your families and communities, and your immense contributions to our nation’s progress are deeply appreciated and deserve the highest recognition,” Atuma stated .

The former lawmaker specifically acknowledged women in governance, business, education, healthcare, and rural development, noting that their dedication continues to inspire generations and drive positive change across the country.

Atuma also paid special tribute to women in Abia Central Senatorial District, recognizing their unwavering support and contributions to the growth of the APC in the region.

He described them as “pillars of strength” whose efforts have been instrumental in the party’s expanding influence in Abia State .

The APC chieftain reiterated his commitment to championing policies that promote gender equality, protect women’s rights, and create opportunities for women to thrive in all fields when elected to office.

He emphasized that empowering women remains a key priority in his political agenda for Abia Central and the nation at large.
