JX Group CEO Commends FG for Airtlifting Nigerians Suffering Xenophobia in South Africa

The Chief Executive Officer of JX Group, Dr. Chibudom Jephthah Chigozirim, has praised the Federal Government for dispatching a plane to evacuate Nigerians suffering from xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Dr. Chigozirim described the government’s swift intervention as a demonstration of genuine concern for the welfare of Nigerian citizens abroad.

“I commend President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government for this bold and compassionate step. Sending a plane to airlift our compatriots who have lost businesses and faced brutal attacks shows that Nigeria truly cares for its own,” he said.

The JX Group CEO also called on other corporate organizations and well-meaning Nigerians to support the returnees with reintegration assistance, including job placement and small business grants.

He urged the government to maintain diplomatic pressure on South Africa to ensure the safety of Nigerians who choose to remain.

The first batch of evacuees is expected to arrive in Abuja on Thursday.
