Kwara State has successfully concluded the airlift of all its pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise, marking the completion of a carefully coordinated departure process that saw hundreds of Muslim faithful from the state embark on the sacred spiritual journey to the Holy Land.
The successful airlift, coordinated by the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in collaboration with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), was described by officials as smooth, orderly, and conducted in full compliance with Saudi Arabian authorities’ entry requirements and health protocols.
State officials expressed satisfaction with the overall logistics of the airlift exercise, commending the dedication of welfare officers, medical teams, and airline operators who worked tirelessly to ensure every pilgrim departed safely and comfortably.
The Kwara State Government urged all pilgrims to conduct themselves with utmost piety, discipline, and decorum throughout their stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to prioritise their health and personal safety during the physically demanding Hajj rites.
Muslim faithful and families of the pilgrims across Kwara State have offered prayers for the safe, spiritually rewarding, and successful completion of the Hajj journey by all their loved ones.
The 2026 Hajj season, which draws millions of Muslim pilgrims from across the globe to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, is expected to reach its spiritual peak with the all-important standing at the plains of Arafat in the coming days.
Kwara joins several other Nigerian states that have completed their pilgrims’ airlift ahead of the main Hajj rites, as NAHCON continues to oversee the overall coordination of Nigeria’s participation in this year’s pilgrimage.
