LP Aspirant Threatens Legal Action Over Alleged Ticket Racketeering

A Labour Party (LP) aspirant has threatened to institute legal proceedings over alleged ticket racketeering within the party, raising concerns about transparency in the candidate nomination process.

CDA News Nigeria reports that the aspirant accused some party officials of engaging in irregularities during the sale and allocation of nomination tickets, describing the alleged actions as contrary to the principles of internal democracy.

According to the aspirant, legal action will be pursued if the party fails to address the grievances and ensure a transparent and credible process.

The aspirant called on the Labour Party leadership to investigate the allegations and take appropriate steps to safeguard the integrity of the party’s electoral process.

Party stakeholders have urged all aggrieved members to seek redress through lawful and established channels while maintaining peace and unity within the party.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the allegations have generated discussions among party supporters, although the Labour Party had not issued an official response to the claims as of the time of filing this report.

The development comes as political parties continue preparations for future electoral activities across the country.
