A Nigerian Air Force C-130 aircraft has successfully landed in Banjul, The Gambia, as part of its ferry flight to Portugal for scheduled depot-level maintenance.
The NAF, in a statement by its Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed the safe landing and the wellbeing of all crew members.
The aircraft, which had made a precautionary stop in Burkina Faso, followed an updated flight plan that included a transit through Accra, Ghana. It is scheduled to proceed to Casablanca before its final leg to Portugal.
“Ferry flights for aircraft scheduled for maintenance are required to operate through designated airfields, with movements spaced in accordance with established aviation safety procedures. All personnel are safe, and the aircraft remains serviceable,” Air Commodore Ejodame stated.
The NAF expressed appreciation to the authorities in Ghana and The Gambia for their support and acknowledged the concern shown by the Nigerian public.
“The Nigerian Air Force reassures the public of its unwavering commitment to the highest standards of safety and professionalism in all operations,” the statement concluded.
