GENEVA – Ukrainian and American envoys are scheduled to meet in Geneva on Sunday for critical discussions on President Donald Trump’s proposed plan to end the nearly four-year war with Russia, alongside European security chiefs.
The talks come as Ukraine pushes back against proposals seen as favoring Moscow, with Trump’s 28-point plan requiring Kyiv to cede territory, reduce its military, and abandon NATO membership aspirations. The US president has given Ukraine until November 27 to approve the plan, stating he hopes to stop the fighting “one way or the other.”
European allies, excluded from drafting the agreement, have expressed concerns about the proposal, noting it “requires additional work” and could leave Ukraine vulnerable to future attacks. The Geneva meeting will include security officials from Britain, Italy, France, Germany, and the EU, aiming to strengthen Kyiv’s negotiating position.
