Wike Warns Second-Term Governors Supporting “Betrayers”

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has issued a dire warning to Nigerian politicians, particularly second-term governors and federal lawmakers, who align themselves with individuals he labels as “betrayers.”

Speaking on Saturday at the commissioning of the Rivers State Renewed Hope Ambassadors headquarters in Port Harcourt, Wike declared that those who support disloyalty will inevitably face betrayal themselves. His comments are widely seen as a pointed reference to the ongoing political feud with his successor, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

“Whoever is watching, whether you are a senator, a House of Reps member, a minister, or a governor, and you support betrayers, people will continue to betray you in life,” Wike stated. He described the eventual consequence as a collapse from which they would be unable to speak.

Drawing from his personal experience, Wike predicted that governors in their second term who back “betrayers” as successors would face immediate rebellion, unlike the months it took in his own case. “This is what the gods of the land have told me to tell you people,” he asserted.

The minister framed his warning as a spiritual and moral law of retribution, urging politicians to heed his words. The inaugurated facility, which includes a radio station and situation room, is intended to serve as a base for loyalists of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda in the state.
