ABUJA – The Nigerian Air Force has eliminated several terrorists and destroyed their camp in a precision airstrike on a hideout within the Sambisa Forest, dealing a significant blow to insurgent operations in the region.
The successful operation, confirmed by NAF spokesman Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame in a Wednesday night statement, came in response to recent terrorist activities, including an ambush that killed two soldiers and two Civilian JTF members along the Damboa axis of Borno State.
The airstrike followed extensive intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions that tracked terrorist movements and identified active structures at the Arra location within the Sambisa general area.
“NAF air assets acquired and engaged designated objectives through coordinated, successive passes,” Ejodame stated, confirming that the operation achieved its intended effect with complete destruction of all identified targets.
The strike significantly degraded the terrorists’ operational capabilities and disrupted their command and logistics networks, marking another successful counter-insurgency operation in the ongoing campaign against terrorism in northeast Nigeria.
