NDLEA Strikes Hard in Kano: Six Arrested in Major Raid on Drug Joints

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its war against drug abuse and trafficking in northern Nigeria, conducting a series of targeted raids on identified drug joints across Kano State, resulting in the arrest of six suspects.

The operation, carried out by NDLEA operatives, saw agents storming multiple locations believed to be hotspots for the sale, distribution, and consumption of illicit substances within the state.

Significant quantities of banned substances were reportedly recovered during the raids, as the agency continues its nationwide offensive against drug cartels and street-level narcotics networks fuelling insecurity and social decay across Nigerian communities.

The arrested suspects are currently in NDLEA custody and are being processed for prosecution in line with the agency’s zero-tolerance policy on drug-related offences.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, has repeatedly vowed that no state or community will be spared in the agency’s relentless campaign to rid Nigeria of the drug menace threatening its youth and national fabric.

Residents of the affected communities have applauded the raids, calling for sustained operations to permanently dismantle drug networks entrenched in their neighbourhoods.
