The Minister of Education has said that the introduction of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) system by the National Examinations Council (NECO) is delivering a fresh blow to examination malpractice across Nigeria.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the minister described the transition to CBT as a major milestone in the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen the credibility, transparency, and integrity of the country’s examination system.
According to the minister, the adoption of technology has significantly reduced opportunities for cheating and other forms of examination malpractice while improving the efficiency and reliability of the assessment process. He noted that the initiative aligns with ongoing reforms aimed at modernising Nigeria’s education sector.
The minister also commended NECO for embracing innovation and urged candidates, schools, and examination officials to support the transition by adhering to examination guidelines and maintaining high ethical standards.
