ABUJA – Abdulrahman Mohammed, the newly appointed factional Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has pledged to heal the party’s internal wounds and restore stability.
In a statement on Monday, Mohammed stated his primary goal is to reposition the party, end factionalization, and organize an all-inclusive national convention to elect a new leadership.
“My job here as Acting National Chairman is simple: heal the party of its wounds and end factionalisation,” he said, acknowledging the party’s difficult state after a series of high-profile defections.
His appointment by a faction backed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike comes amid a deepening leadership crisis, with rival groups suspending each other’s members in a power struggle.
