The family of Nze Samuel Nmaralam Igbokwe of Umuawa Alaocha in Abia State has formally announced the burial programme for their late matriarch, Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe.
The funeral activities commenced today, December 5, with a Service of Songs at her residence in Gowon Estate, Lagos.
According to the detailed programme, the rites will continue in the family’s hometown with a Service of Songs/Tribute Night on Friday, January 9, 2026. This will be followed by the main funeral events on Saturday, January 10, 2026, including lying-in-state, a funeral service at Wesley Cathedral, interment at the family compound, and a reception. A Thanksgiving Service is scheduled for Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Methodist Church, Umuawa Alaocha.
The family spokesperson, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu), expressed appreciation for the support from friends, relatives, and well-wishers as they begin the solemn journey of laying their mother to rest.
