US Airstrike Eliminates ISIS Terrorists in Sokoto Gathering Ahead of Planned Christmas Attacks

In a decisive military action, the United States launched a deadly airstrike on Thursday, December 25, 2025, eliminating scores of Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists who had gathered in Sokoto State, Nigeria.

According to reports, the terrorists had converged from Mali, Burkina Faso, and other camps across Nigeria to coordinate attacks on four Nigerian states during the Christmas celebrations. Monitoring their movements, U.S. forces launched a strike from a military ship, reportedly killing all those at the gathering.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump confirmed the operation, stating, “Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians.”

Trump emphasized that the Department of War executed “numerous perfect strikes” and warned that there would be “hell to pay” if the killing of Christians continued.

The operation comes after terrorist threats to disrupt Christmas celebrations and aligns with growing international involvement in Nigeria’s counter-terrorism efforts.
