Nigerian Solar Manufacturer Boosts Local Production to Combat Import Delays and Ensure Quality

LAGOS – In a significant boost for Nigeria’s renewable energy sector, indigenous manufacturer LPV Technologies has announced plans to ramp up the local production of its TÜV-certified solar panels to meet growing demand and eliminate the chronic delays associated with imported alternatives.

The company, owned by Levene Energy, stated that its IEC-standard modules are now being produced at its facility in Lagos, ensuring timely delivery and consistent quality for solar energy projects across the country.

Speaking on the development, Vincent Eka, Supply Chain Manager at LPV Technologies, emphasized the strategic importance of local manufacturing in addressing a major bottleneck in Nigeria’s solar market.

Designed for Nigerian Conditions

“We recognise how urgent Nigeria’s energy needs are,” said Mr. Olugbenga Odunlami, Group Head of Supply Chain at Levene Energy. “By manufacturing locally, we eliminate the long delays and uncertainties associated with imports, while delivering solar panels that meet globally recognised standards.”

Eka further explained that the panels are specifically engineered to perform in Nigeria’s diverse and challenging climates. “From the heat-soaked rooftops of Lagos to the dust-laden outskirts of Sokoto, each panel is field-tested where energy matters most, ensuring resilience, reliability, and relevance beyond the lab,” he stated.

Boosting Local Content and Job Creation

The move is a direct support for Nigeria’s local content policy, providing developers and installers with a dependable, premium-grade alternative to often low-quality and untraceable imports.

Beyond solving logistical challenges, LPVT’s local production model contributes to job creation and industrial growth. The company’s Lagos facility serves as an innovation hub where Nigerian engineers and technicians produce panels designed to rival global brands.
