NSCDC Arrests 16 Suspects Over Vandalism, Cattle Rustling in Gombe

GOMBE — The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gombe State Command, has arrested 16 suspects allegedly involved in rape, vandalism, theft, forgery, impersonation, and cattle rustling across the state .

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the Command Spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Corps Buhari Saad, disclosed this while parading the suspects before journalists on Wednesday in Gombe . Saad stated that the arrests followed investigations into various offences committed in different parts of the state .

CDA News Nigeria reports that three suspects were arrested over separate sexual offences involving underage victims. The first suspect, Mohammed Nasir Usman, 19, allegedly lured an eight-year-old girl to a primary school where she was sexually abused on August 3, 2026 . A 64-year-old suspect, Malambaba Uru, was arrested over an incident involving a 14-year-old girl at his chemist shop, while a 15-year-old suspect, Madala Matthias, allegedly sexually abused another eight-year-old girl .

Five suspects were also arrested in connection with criminal conspiracy, vandalism, and theft, while three others were arrested for impersonation and forgery after being found in possession of NSCDC volunteer identity cards and uniforms . Additionally, two suspects were arrested over the alleged rustling of 13 cows from Taraba State .

The Command warned members of the public against impersonating NSCDC personnel and vowed to prosecute all suspects .
