OBINGWA WEST, NIGERIA — The Member representing Obingwa West constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly and Minority Whip, Hon. Chief Erondu Uchenna Erondu, has congratulated the immediate past Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD, on his appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Spain .
In a congratulatory message, Hon. Erondu described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Ikpeazu’s years of dedicated service, leadership, and contribution to the development of Abia State and Nigeria at large .
The lawmaker noted that Ikpeazu’s experience as a two-term governor, academic distinguished scholar, and administrator has adequately prepared him for the challenges of diplomatic representation at the highest level .
“As a seasoned administrator and leader, I have no doubt that you will bring your wealth of experience to bear in strengthening the bilateral relations between Nigeria and Spain. Your appointment is a testament to your hard work, humility, and commitment to public service,” Hon. Erondu stated .
He further expressed confidence that the former governor would project the image of Nigeria positively and attract valuable opportunities for trade, investment, and cultural exchange between both nations .
Hon. Erondu also extended his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding Dr. Ikpeazu worthy to serve as Nigeria’s envoy, describing the appointment as a demonstration of the President’s commitment to inclusivity and merit-based leadership selection .
The lawmaker prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom, and good health for Dr. Ikpeazu as he embarks on this new national assignment, assuring him of the support and goodwill of the people of Obingwa and Abia State at large .
Dr. Ikpeazu was among the 65 ambassadors-designate whose postings were recently approved by President Tinubu, with his assignment to the Kingdom of Spain .
