Abuja, Nigeria — Former presidential spokesman Josef Onoh has commended the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, following what has been described as the commission’s largest asset recovery in Nigeria’s history.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Onoh praised the EFCC leadership for strengthening the country’s anti-corruption campaign, describing the recovery as a major milestone in the fight against economic and financial crimes. He said the achievement demonstrates the commission’s renewed commitment to accountability and transparency.
The commendation comes after the EFCC announced a record recovery of assets and funds through investigations, forfeitures and anti-corruption operations, a development that has attracted reactions from public officials and stakeholders across the country.
“This achievement reflects the dedication and professionalism of the EFCC under Ola Olukoyede’s leadership. It is a significant step in the fight against corruption and the protection of public resources,” Onoh said.
He urged the commission to sustain the momentum by ensuring that recovered assets are managed transparently and that investigations are conducted in accordance with the law.
The EFCC is expected to continue its anti-graft operations while relevant authorities oversee the management and disposal of recovered assets in line with existing legal provisions.
