ABUJA — In a heartfelt message of unity, former Abia State Governor and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has urged Nigerians to be “good ambassadors” and cease attacks on the Igbo, whom he described as the “salt of the nation.”
The statement, shared as a daily reminder on Saturday, was directed at public commentator Reno Omokri, whom Kalu previously advised to avoid divisive rhetoric against the ethnic group.
Kalu emphasized that the Igbo contribute immensely to Nigeria’s socio-economic fabric wherever they reside, and unity should be built on respect and bridges, not provocation.
Leadership in Empathy:
The senator’s message highlighted empathy-driven leadership—strong in truth, calm in delivery, and unwavering in justice. He called on leaders to emulate President Bola Tinubu’s vision of carrying every Nigerian along, irrespective of tribe or origin.
“It is time for leaders to emulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose vision is to carry every Nigerian along… Only then can we truly move forward—together,” Kalu stated.
The reminder reinforces Kalu’s longstanding advocacy for national cohesion and dignity for the Igbo within a united Nigeria.
