LONDON — Premier League champions Arsenal are not currently in active negotiations with Galatasaray over the transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen .
Despite being linked with a move to the Emirates, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed there have been “no negotiations, no bid, no conversations” between the clubs . While Osimhen’s name was reportedly raised during recent talks between the clubs, no progress has been made beyond that initial conversation .
Galatasaray are determined to keep the 27-year-old, who has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances for the Turkish champions . The club has already rejected a €130 million offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal . Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is still seeking attacking reinforcements, with the club reportedly willing to pay over £60 million . Osimhen’s high salary demands, reportedly exceeding £300,000 per week, are also a potential obstacle .
CDA News Nigeria reports that Manchester United have also been dealt a blow in the transfer market. The Red Devils have been snubbed by Barcelona midfielder Gavi over a potential transfer. According to the Manchester Evening News, United were willing to pay the £35 million asking price, but the Spain international wants to remain in Barcelona .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Gavi feels completely at home in Spain and has a close relationship with manager Hansi Flick, whom he has described as “like a father” . Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also dismissed reports linking Gavi to United as “absolutely fake news,” saying “Gavi is not leaving Barcelona. Absolutely impossible” .
