Ekiti Court Remands Disqualified APC Aspirant Over Defamation, Cyberbullying Allegations

ADO-EKITI — A Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of a disqualified All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Abimbola Olajumoke, in prison custody for one month over allegations of defamation, cyberbullying, and kidnapping .

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the case was instituted by the Chief Executive Officer of YSJ Agro-Allied Limited, Mrs. Yemisi Joluwe, who accused Olajumoke of making false statements against her company . The court had earlier granted Olajumoke bail but subsequently revoked it after she failed to appear at the next adjourned sitting, leading to her arrest and detention .

Chief Magistrate Abayin Adeosun ordered the remand and adjourned the case until September 17, 2026, for further hearing .

CDA News Nigeria reports that Joluwe, in her statement, said the legal action was aimed at protecting her company’s reputation and seeking justice for the harm caused to her staff . She stated, “At YSJ Farms, we have always welcomed constructive feedback and public scrutiny… However, there is a clear distinction between a genuine complaint and a deliberate, malicious attempt to destroy a company’s hard-earned reputation” .
