England took the lead through Anthony Gordon in the second half and looked on course for a famous victory. However, Argentina responded late in the match, with Enzo Fernández equalising before substitute Lautaro Martínez scored the winning goal in stoppage time to complete a remarkable turnaround.
The victory sends Argentina into a second consecutive World Cup final, where they will face Spain, who defeated France 2-0 in the other semi-final. England will now play France in the third-place playoff.
