Osinbajo to Lead ECOWAS Observers for Côte d’Ivoire Presidential Election

Abuja – The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has appointed Nigeria’s former Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, to head its Election Observation Mission for Côte d’Ivoire’s forthcoming presidential election.

According to a statement from the ECOWAS Secretariat on Sunday, the mission is set to oversee the electoral process scheduled for October 25.

The delegation will be active in the West African nation from October 19 to October 29. This deployment aligns with the ECOWAS Supplementary Protocol on Democracy and Good Governance, which mandates regional oversight of major elections.
