The APC governorship candidate urges Governor Adeleke to protect lives and property, while mourning victims of post-election killings.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election victory, while strongly condemning the post-election violence that has claimed multiple lives across the state .
In an official statement to party members on August 29, Oyebamiji extended his congratulations “in the spirit of democracy,” urging the governor, as Chief Security Officer of the state, to take full responsibility for safeguarding the lives and property of all citizens during the sensitive post-election period .
The APC candidate expressed deep displeasure over the recent surge in violence, condemning the killings of Hon. Remi Abass (former Chairman of Irewole Local Government Area), Chief Gbenga Ogbara (APC Chairman in Atakumosa Local Government Area), and more than 35 other victims . He offered his deepest condolences and continued support to the bereaved families.
“The senseless killings, harassment and intimidation of members and supporters of our party must therefore stop forthwith. Attacks on innocent citizens and their businesses must not be allowed to continue,” Oyebamiji said .
Oyebamiji called on the Nigeria Police Force to launch a thorough investigation into the killings and bring the perpetrators to justice .
Addressing the party’s next steps, he reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to pursuing justice through constitutional means. He also urged supporters to remain steadfast and begin mobilising for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections .
