OSOGBO — The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the August 15 Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has raised the alarm over what he described as a growing wave of violence against members and supporters of the party following the poll .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Oyebamiji made the call in a statement on X on Tuesday, addressing APC supporters, members and leaders in the state after the election, which was won by the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke . The APC candidate said although the party had hoped for a different outcome, he respected INEC’s position and supported the party’s decision to review the result .
CDA News Nigeria reports that Oyebamiji expressed concern over alleged attacks on APC members, saying the situation had worsened in the aftermath of the election . “At the same time, I wish to alert the State Government and security agents to the growing trend of hostility and violence against our members and supporters,” he stated . According to him, attacks on APC members witnessed before the election had “taken another dimension in the last 24 hours” .
