Oyo Govt Demolishes Building Used by Adelabu Family Kidnappers

The Oyo State Government has demolished a building in Ibadan allegedly used by the kidnappers who abducted Mrs. Folashade Adelabu, sister of the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu.

The demolition, carried out on Tuesday morning, was supervised by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Lands and Housing, accompanied by security operatives. The building, located in the Ojoo area of Ibadan, was described by authorities as a criminal hideout where the abductors reportedly planned and coordinated the kidnapping.

Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr. Williams Akin-Funmilayo, told journalists that the government would not allow any property within the state to serve as a safe haven for criminals.

“This structure was used to commit a heinous crime against a citizen. We have zero tolerance for kidnapping and banditry in Oyo State,” he said.

Mrs. Adelabu was kidnapped along the Ibadan-Oyo Road last Tuesday. Four suspects have so far been arrested, while she remains in captivity. Rescue operations are ongoing.

The state government warned property owners to be vigilant and report suspicious activities by tenants or users of their buildings.
