OYO – Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested three suspected criminals and recovered firearms, vandalised cables, and other incriminating items.
The arrests followed a coordinated raid on hideouts in Ibadan and Ogbomoso over the weekend. Police spokesperson SP Oluwaseun Adewale confirmed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to the command, one locally made pistol, two live cartridges, and large quantities of vandalised armoured cables belonging to a major telecommunications firm were found in the suspects’ possession.
“The suspects are members of a syndicate specialising in infrastructure vandalism and armed robbery,” Adewale said. He added that the trio are currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.
The command vowed to intensify patrols and crack down on criminal networks across the state.
Residents have been urged to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
