A fresh and dynamic voice has entered the race for the Abia State House of Assembly as Promise Uzoma Okoro formally declared his intention to contest, vowing to deliver people-centered representation and grassroots development.
Making his declaration before a crowd of supporters, family members, and political stakeholders in his constituency, Okoro outlined a vision rooted in accountability, youth empowerment, and infrastructural renewal. He promised to be a servant-leader who will listen, act, and report back to the people.
“Today, I stand before you with a heart full of gratitude and a spirit ready for service. Promise Uzoma Okoro declares for House of Assembly not for personal gain, but to be the voice of the voiceless and the hope of the hopeless,” he said.
The aspirant criticized the lack of visible impact from past representatives, noting that many communities still lack access to clean water, good roads, and functional primary healthcare centers. He pledged to change the narrative through legislative oversight, people-oriented motions, and effective constituency outreach.
Okoro also called on youths and women to rally behind his candidacy, emphasizing that the time has come for fresh energy and innovative ideas to take over the corridors of power. “Leadership is not about age; it is about vision, capacity, and the fear of God,” he added.
As the 2027 elections draw closer, political observers see Okoro’s entry as a significant move that could reshape the contest in his constituency.
