Rivers Assembly Speaker Requests Chief Judge to Form Panel to Investigate Governor Fubara, Deputy

Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker Martins Amaewhule has formally written to the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Chibuzor Simeon Amadi, requesting the constitution of a seven-member panel to investigate allegations of gross misconduct against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu.

The request follows the Assembly’s resolution to proceed with impeachment proceedings against the governor and his deputy. The panel, when constituted, will examine the allegations and submit its findings to the Assembly.

This move marks a significant escalation in the ongoing political standoff in Rivers State and sets the stage for the next phase of the impeachment process.
