RSU Law Faculty Denies Social Media Report on Staff Changes, Alleges Political Motives

The Faculty of Law at Rivers State University has issued a press release denouncing a social media publication regarding its staff affairs as “false, sponsored, and malicious.”

The statement clarifies that a Postgraduate Coordinator was formally relieved of her appointment on November 6, 2025, after serving for three years and seven months. The faculty management stated that a backdated resignation letter was presented only after the dismissal had been officially communicated.

According to the release, the faculty believes the misleading publication is linked to heightened political interests surrounding the forthcoming Deanship election and is an attempt to create public misinformation.

The statement confirmed that the university is constituting a Disciplinary Committee to review the matter and urged the public to disregard the initial report and allow the administrative process to run its course.
