The immediate past Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and Patron of the “City Boy Movement” Abia State, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Enyinnaya Orji (popularly known as Ikuku Abia), has congratulated Hon. Chijioke Chukwu on his emergence as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abia State chapter .
Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, a former Minority Leader of the Abia State House of Assembly, was elected during the party’s State Congress held in Umuahia on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 .
Speaking with journalists shortly after the Congress, Rt. Hon. Orji described Hon. Chukwu’s emergence as well-deserved, citing his dedication, resilience, and consistent commitment to the growth and development of the party in the state .
According to him, Hon. Chukwu’s victory reflects the confidence and trust party members have in his leadership capacity. “I commend his dedication, leadership qualities, and unwavering commitment to the ideals and vision of our great party. His emergence is a testament to his hard work and the trust reposed in him by members of the APC,” Orji stated .
The former Speaker expressed confidence that under Hon. Chukwu’s leadership, the APC in Abia State will witness greater unity, renewed strength, and improved electoral success in future political engagements .
Appreciation for Party Leadership
Rt. Hon. Orji also extended his congratulations to other newly elected members of the State Executive, urging them to work in harmony to reposition and strengthen the party across all 17 Local Government Areas and political wards of the state .
He further commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his leadership and continued efforts in fostering unity, stability, and growth within the party nationwide. Additionally, he applauded the APC National Working Committee (NWC), led by Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for their strategic direction and commitment in ensuring a peaceful and credible Congress process across the country .

Rt. Hon. Orji concluded by appreciating party stakeholders, caucus members, and faithful supporters in Abia State for their collective efforts in ensuring a smooth, peaceful, and successful State Congress. He reaffirmed his commitment to work collaboratively with the party leadership to build a stronger and more formidable APC in Abia State .
