Sanusi, Bayero, Kwankwaso Hold Separate Eid Prayers in Kano

KANO, NIGERIA — Leading figures in Kano State, including former Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Emir Ado Bayero, and former Governor & Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso, held separate Eid-el-Fitr prayers across the state on Friday, each addressing thousands of Muslim faithful.

The separate congregations reflected both the popularity of the leaders and their distinct followerships in Kano. During the prayers, all leaders emphasized the importance of unity, religious tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among Kano residents and Nigerians at large.

Emir Sanusi, speaking to his congregation, urged citizens to uphold the values of Ramadan—discipline, sacrifice, and charity—and translate them into actions that foster social cohesion. Similarly, Senator Kwankwaso highlighted the need for youth empowerment and community development, linking spiritual reflection with social responsibility.

Security agencies were deployed at all prayer grounds to ensure a smooth and peaceful celebration, with traffic management and crowd control measures effectively implemented.

The celebrations in Kano mirrored national festivities marking the end of Ramadan, with Muslims across Nigeria engaging in prayers, acts of charity, and family gatherings.
