Senator Orji Uzor Kalu Calls for Unity in Abia APC, Reveals Tinubu’s Direct Order to End Rivalry With Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu
Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has issued a passionate call for unity among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, revealing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu personally mandated party leaders to ensure the APC wins the state in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the Abia APC Stakeholders Meeting held in Umuahia, Senator Kalu made a stunning disclosure that President Tinubu specifically advised him to end any form of rivalry with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, stressing that internal harmony is non-negotiable.
“He told me one on one, ‘Quarrel no more. Don’t quarrel with your younger brother, the Deputy Speaker.’ From now, quarrel is gone, bickering is gone. We have to face the work of delivering the state,” Senator Kalu declared.
The former governor emphasised that the stakeholders meeting was not a platform for speeches but a moment of honest reflection and collective resolve ahead of 2027.
“Today is not a speech-making day.
Today is a day for every member of this party to reflect on where we will be by 2027. We have the mandate of the President to deliver Abia State,” he stated firmly.
Senator Kalu further urged party members to support younger politicians and create opportunities for emerging leaders to grow and occupy positions of responsibility within the party structure.
He also issued a stern warning against political gossip and online propaganda aimed at fanning division between himself and the Deputy Speaker, cautioning those involved to desist immediately.
“People should stop using my name to create problems. If you have anything to say, say it with your name, not mine,” he warned.
Senator Kalu concluded by stressing that unity remains the only viable path through which the APC can achieve meaningful and historic electoral success in Abia State come 2027.
