Soldiers Raid Former Minister’s House in Abuja Amid Coup Scare

ABUJA – Soldiers have raided the Abuja residence of former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva.

The raid occurred on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in the upscale Maitama area.

According to security sources, the operation is linked to an ongoing investigation into an alleged coup plot. The Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) is leading the probe.

Reports indicate that the special military team arrested Sylva’s brother, identified as Paga, during the operation. It is believed that the former minister was not present at the time.

The military has not yet issued an official statement on the incident. This development follows the recent detention of several senior military officers in connection with the same alleged plot.

The atmosphere in the nation’s capital remains tense as the investigation continues
