Abuja – The House of Representatives has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) concerning the alleged misuse of development grants from FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The probe, covering the period from 2015 to 2025, was triggered by a motion of urgent public importance. Lawmakers expressed deep concern over the lack of visible growth in Nigerian football despite millions of dollars in international funding.
Hon. Adedayo Samuel Adesola, who presented the motion, highlighted specific projects, including the construction of the Birnin Kebbi Stadium, which allegedly failed to reflect the scale of the reported financial investment.
The House has resolved to constitute a special committee to review the NFF’s financial records, summon its leadership, and ensure greater accountability in the management of all football development funds.
