The South East Young Leaders Consultative Forum (SEYLF) has congratulated former Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, on his appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the forum’s President, Comrade Chinweuba Anyaragbu, described the appointment as well-deserved and a testament to Ikpeazu’s track record of achievement during his tenure as governor.
Anyaragbu said “This is a well-deserved appointment that proves his testament of great achievement as former Abia State Governor,” Anyaragbu said.
The forum noted that Ikpeazu’s experience in public service and his performance while leading Abia State positioned him as a worthy representative of Nigeria in the European nation.
The SEYLF president Abyaragbu expressed pride that another son of the South East had been entrusted with diplomatic responsibility, adding that the appointment reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recognition of competence from the region.
“We are confident that Dr. Ikpeazu will deploy his wealth of experience to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Spain, attract investments, and project a positive image of our country,” Anyaragbu added.
The forum called on all South East sons and daughters to support the former governor as he prepares to take on his new diplomatic responsibilities.
Ikpeazu, who governed Abia State from 2015 to 2023, was among 65 ambassadors recently approved for posting by President Tinubu to Nigeria’s foreign missions worldwide.
